How much will my job cost?
Each job is estimated differently. We take into consideration what the project needs, what parts you want painted and the level of detail required (Restorations). What type of paint you want. We take these all into consideration when giving your estimate.
What type of paints do you use?
We use only the finest paint products available. We use both PPG and House of Kolors. Both are polyurethane basecoat/clearcoat systems.
Do you keep me posted on my job?
Yes, customers can get an update anytime they want. All cars that start at bare metal or have extensive repairs done are completely photo documented. We can do that for the bikes too although that is not generally requested.
Do you require the full amount up front?
No! We do not require the full amount up front. When your project comes in, it is put in line for the work to be completed. Deposits are taken when needed to hold a place in line for restoration projects. Large restoration projects will be billed out in increments as work is completed. We accept the deposit in the form of a check (personal is fine), Money Order, Cashiers check or business check. Final payment (plus shipping), must be made in the form of a cashiers check, money order or a personal check if paid in advance of the project being picked up.
How much clear do you put on?
Please see the "The Painting Process" page for all the details.
How long will the job take?
For bikes, this depends on when we get your parts in. If it is between mid October and March, expect about a 5-8 week period. Other times will be about 3-5 weeks.
For automobiles, it will depend on what level of work we will be doing as well as the time of year. We work with each client to insure a timely delivery.
I don't know what colors I want, what should I do?
We suggest visiting your local "auto body shop supply store". There you will find various color chip books to look through. If you are interested in "candy" type colors, you may want to see if you can take a look at the "House of Kolors color chip chart". If you find a color you like, be sure and get the color codes off the chart.
Can you use the original paint as the base for the job?
As long as your paint is in original perfect condition, we can prep the parts, do the graphics, then re-clear the parts. These will also be sanded, buffed and polished so you cannot feel any graphic edges. Although it will save you some money, it does not generally offset the fact that it is better to start with bare metal. Each project is assessed individually. Aftermarket paint is removed completely to insure proper adhesion throughout the painting process.
